Abandoned Motel – Juniper Lodge

As a hospitality photographer, I often photograph a hotel or bed and breakfast after a remodel or renovation or occasionally a brand new property, but I have never photographed an abandoned or closed down property for obvious reasons. However, last week  I was driving up Hwy 97 in Northern California to grab some pick up shots for the latest Explore Project episode when I passed the Juniper Motel Lodge and Restaurant. It looked like it had been closed down and abandoned for many years and was in a fairly advanced state of disrepair. The dilapidated condition of the property made for a pretty unique photo opportunity, so I pulled over grabbed my camera and tripod and snapped a few frames.
