Key West Florida with Mother Ocean and Tahoe SUP

In April I traveled to Key West, Florida to catch up with Justin Riney and Gabriel Gray of Expedition Florida xf 500 who was in the middle of paddle boarding around the entire coastline of Florida in an effort to bring attention to the environmental needs of Florida’s water ways and marine ecosystems. I made the trip with Nate Brouwer who is the founder of Tahoe SUP Paddle boards. Tahoe SUP had built a custom board designed specifically for the rigors of Justin’s journey. My job was to document part of Justin and his team’s time in the Keys West section of of the trip.

We were transported and guided by the great crew from Mellow Ventures charter company. They provided transportation , supplies and local knowledge that made it possible for me to get the shots I needed and to have a great time while I worked. Here are some photos.

It was a fun shoot in-spite of staying awake most nights due to the fact that my gear was not so-see-um proof. Those vile little creatures don’t let their small size prevent them from causing a large amount of discomfort to the unprepared.
